About Jennifer
I am an independent, outgoing, confident, fun-loving person with a broad range of interests. I love to laugh – at movies, at family dinners, and at myself. I hate to be bored, love to be challenged, and like to explore new experiences as often as I can. For example, I joke that I would love to be a participant on the Amazing Race – all those countries, all those cultures, rappelling, zip lines, new foods – that sounds wonderful! Most importantly, I value relationships above things. I would rather let the dishes wait until morning so I can snuggle with Michael after dinner.
I have a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy and Child & Family Development. I have a flexible clinical practice that allows me to also be adjunct faculty at the University of Georgia, Athens Technical College, and Gainesville State College where I teach in the Child & Family Development and Early Childhood Education programs. Although that sounds like a lot, I pick and choose where and when I teach so my life is flexible enough to have fun, travel, and explore with my family and friends.
Fun stuff I like to do includes walking with my dad or friends, biking and hiking with Michael, going to the movies, working in the yard, sewing clothes and quilts, reading, cooking for my friends, hosting outdoor parties, and traveling. We usually take one big trip with friends and several smaller weekend trips to the mountains or the beach each year.
